I think half the posts I see from Saran on the forums are some big over-reaching idea for a new skillset or some huge addition to existing ones.
Maybe, though it might be because when I started playing here it was like... (or atleast felt like) new skills were being released all the time.
Now, ideas for a new skill does not seem out of place as this has been indicated as a possibility and were encouraged... so I am uncertain why this is an issue. To be honest, I am rather surprised that the plethora of skill ideas that used to be posted routinely have not been necroed perhaps over the years that has beaten out of most forum-goers.
I'm kinda waiting to see if Enyalida continues with the groves res, as that would also be a rather interesting addition.

Eh, more like a third, with another third being "Don't criticize my ideas!"
Yeah, I'd say you're right Saran, at this point a lot of us are pretty well resigned to how things 'are' (though they do surprise us now and then we can usually guess when something is acceptable and when it isn't likely).

I'm pretty swamped with things to do at the moment, and I continue to get the feeling that something like Groves would not work as a tertiary, only as a secondary... I really need to finish in guild stuff before doing too much with mechanics, that's Lehki's job!
Anywho, I'm all for adding new RP effects, though I'd prefer to have another mechanic added in to druidry, that could perhaps be unique to each guild (Though the work involved there seems like a bad idea). For instance, what was first mentioned with "fireflies" was a movement-confusion effect similar in purpose to things like ashfall, currents, duststorm, and rainbow clouds that would probably take force over the entire demesne and make free movement annoying to enemies (unlike briars which slightly annoys both allies and enemies.) An interesting way to do this could be to have each room slowly accrue fireflies. As you move through the demesne, you attract more in any room that currently has fireflies. The more you have the more the effect hits you. This could be curable somehow (ignite self, fufufu?) in demesne, or would require leaving the demesne to cure. Such effects are defiantly more useful to mages with phantomspheres, but could help druids also.
The thorns report might address this, but if we assume (hope?) that someday sap will be reviewed meaningfully, or removed entirely, I really like effects that gradually increase in effect or danger somehow the longer you hang around the demesne.
And frogs == awesome. I think there are a few more like that floating around that need to be 'finalized' before submitting.
