Or you could just pay for the thing you want to redeem with the flier points.
It depends on how many flier points you already have. If you're just a few away it may make more sense to just buy them, rather than pay for a flight that would generate more miles than you need.

This analogy is going too deep.
Also, Saran. Most of my credits I've had? Totally free. There are tons of ways to get oodles of credits that don't cost a thing.
And question: What is this chisel people are talking about? I'm drawing a blank.

Halves the time to destroy (and enchant?) statues.

Oh, that sounds lovely. I support this item being released.

I think only destroy, and I also think paintings as well. And I also very much support this suggestion (though it should be a cr, not db, artifact).

Xiel says it works on enchanting as well.
Estarra has already said to remind her of this when they are releasing new artifacts, so. Remember to do so!
Xiel2011-02-01 03:45:56
Ditto on the enchanting. It also makes statues sculpted with this in possession last longer (just in case an RL year isn't enough). for regular item release.

I'd like to ah, put in a vote for the Doctoral Cord or the Art Endowment.. or both?

If the route is taken for more quests/events that supply dingbats, they need need to be the sort of thing where you do the quest, you get your fixed dingbat reward, and that's it.
Not a relatively small group of people hit the dingbat pinata, and everyone else sorta gets the ol' relative middle finger. That's just frustrating for everyone not on the party list.

And are those unbound or bound credits?
If they are unbound credits then someone has paid for them. (this includes city/guild credits because they are 10%? of someones purchase)
If they are bound credits then they likely would not be used for something like this and are the ones that you are most likely to be getting for free. (normally through levelling, selling artifacts from give-aways, achievements, elite memberships, etc)

NO to wands of ice.
Good luck with that. I asked repeatedly for the Amulet to not be sold again but it was... twice more.
A few have mentioned chromapen- that's quite the flavour artie.

Unbound and bound. And no, no one paid for them. Artisanal prize credits are all unbound, and in-game event things that give credits kinda flip around with if things are bound or not as prizes. Hamster hunts, lotteries, etc.

eeh, I really don't think artisanals or ascension would matter. The monthlies might be an issue but at the end of the day, you either use the credits to buy an artifact or you convert them to buy a dingbat item.
The credits you convert now, you will probably buy or win later and use to buy a normal artifacts.
If dingbats can only be sold via a gold based market and you can buy them with money then, I think, they'd potentially hover around an equivalent of the 2-1 rate and we've ended up with a system that is practically the same.
*I go buy dingbats because I want money.
*You sell your prize credits for gold.
*You buy dingbats with said gold.
That system would require people to buy dingbats without wanting to buy something with them rather than just letting people buy credits. Then convert, sell or use them as desired.
edit: As a note, I've bought... way too many credits, most of the ones I see are spill-over though there have been times when I've bought them for gold (manse/aethership stuff mainly, or just when I'm feeling lazy after being inactive for a while)
Mirami2011-02-01 05:39:32
Yeah, no to doctoral cord as a dingbat arti... But yes yes yes to it as a normal artifact.
EDIT: if it were a dingbat arti, there would be 0 (zero) dingbats available for sale. We have problems enough with people trying to get the 300 for bubblixes, let alone the 500+ a cord would be.

It looks like the commodity artifacts (or at least the gem producing one), produced 3 comms for every upkeep.
