Though I am hopeful, I would just like to know before I have to go to bed.

Sliiight bump, but does anyone know what the rule is if the person chosen for Beauty happens to win Death..?
Elostian2011-02-06 22:10:36
The chances you name are astronomically small, however, in the instance of that happening the Administration would be forced to prevent a space-time-singularity by preventively deleting this individual.

And for those of us who have no idea what that means? It's far better to make GMT the general time-reference, since everyone can see it no TIME.
Lendren2011-02-06 22:29:24
My guess is that anyone who'd previously won a Seal in that year would be excluded from first place, and bumped down a position (but still able to take second and below).
Unknown2011-02-06 22:44:55
I'd guess they would give the Seal to the second place winner.
Eventru2011-02-06 22:48:42
One would imagine they/their entry would be removed from Beauty (since seal holders cannot compete in other contests).
Given we vote on far more than 4 designs, it wouldn't be problematic.

I thought they were allowed but couldn't take first. Didn't we have some of them competing in War?

War is the exception, not the rule - TAs/Sealholders are not allowed to compete, period, outside of War (and even then, only one per team is allowed).

I definitely saw a few sealholders on the scores for Harmony!

Even if five sealholders came 1st to 5th, none of them would get a prize.

They were still competing! And I'm pretty sure you had to join the event to even participate, soooooooo

It's probably a LOT easier just to say that they can get a million points and still be excluded than to code in something to prevent them from doing JOIN EVENT.

Item: Necklace Type: Necklaces Org: Wt
Commodities: opal 15 diamond 15 cloudessence 4
Mortal Reviews: Allowed
IMPORTANT: The main noun MUST use one of these: NECKLACE
Appearance:
a chilly snoefaasia orchid necklace
Dropped:
A many-stranded necklace lies tangled in a heap here.
Examined:
Six strands of diamond seed-beads make the base of this necklace. Three of the strands lie close to the wearer's throat while another two dip low, draping over the breastbone and slipping down the back. The final strand wraps loosely around the first five, creating cascades and curves in the way they hang. Five pale blue snoefaasia orchids grace the necklace from the hollow of the wearer's throat to the left shoulder. Surrounding the translucent centre of each flower are five opal petals. Bursts of white and silver dance through each blossom when the light touches them, glittering like hoarfrost. Jagged shards of white opal, cut to resemble icicles and sparkling with refracted colours, tangle in the diamond strands on the right side of the necklace and balance the orchids to ensure the piece rests properly about the wearer's neck. A faint chill and a hint of moisture radiates from the orchids.

Appearance:
a glass and gold lyrebird music box
Dropped:
A glittering glass music box has been left on its side here, in danger of being cracked or shattered.
Examined:
The base of this glass music box is rectangular and just tall enough to contain the golden cylinder and comb within. Gold end caps cover each corner of the box, carved into the shapes of feathers that lie parallel to the box's edges. A small bird's nest of spun gold sits on top of the music box, two glittering glass eggs tucked safely within. A blown glass lyrebird strolls behind the nest, his wings tucked to his sides and his long tail trailing over the edge of the music box. Gold flakes within the glass pick out the lines and edges of the lyrebird's feathers. The metal catches the light and reflects it into the glass, creating a faint glow. Painted gold lyrebird tracks cross the box in front of the nest, too small to belong to the nesting lyrebird. The bird's pose is relaxed, his head cocked expectantly to one side and his beak open, waiting for the turn of the handle to start his song.

Appearance:
a fading dress of the vibrant dusk
Dropped:
A dress of dusk lies here gathering dirt in a swirl of blue, gold and orange.
Examined:
Crafted out of a satin weave, this dress has been sewn from soft
spider's silk. The whole gown has been dyed with the colours of sunset,
streaks of orange and deep indigo whipping through it in an eyecatching
display. Flecks of gold have been seemingly randomly splayed over the
piece, joined by powdered tiger's eye in a display that gives the gown a
sparkle all on its own. Clinging tightly to the wearer, it hugs the
body in a flattering embrace, small bands of golden silk hugging to the
wearer like a corset. The lower portion of the dress flares out
significantly, made to trail behind the wearer slightly. Subtle strips
of fabric have been sewn into it, allowing strangely flickering shadows
to dance across the skirt of the dress in contrast to the bold colour
that adorns the majority of the garment. Around the very bottom of the
dress are twin gems, a fist sized ruby burning like an ember on the left
side, while a crescent moonstone on the right shimmers cheerfully of
its own light.

This was my submission! I'm rather alright with not placing though. I thought my design was good, but it does have a few wording issues now that I look at it again.

Kind of disappointing that no forging designs placed. I feel sort of sorry for those cartels, year after year of no wins, and I've seen a couple really good forging entries :/ .
Oh well, maybe next year one will finally at least get last place.
Congrats to the winners, Hallifax clearly has some talent!
