Easier said then done! I think we asked for suggestions before and no one could really improve greatly on the challenges (feel free to try again, though).
War should really be a massive all-out brawl, you know. The current War setup makes little sense to me; there is too much in the way of rules and regulations for it to be a real war!

Because we tried that before and there were issues and complaints, etc. flying about teaming and gaming. Not to mention that they could go on for hours and hour to the point where no admin wanted to oversee it.

Like, an actual brawl. Lots of people versus lots of people. No need for accusations of teaming at that point! Once a person dies, they're out. Last man standing wins.
Teaming is a-okay because eventually the winning team will have to turn on and feed on itself.

The complaint is that it then becomes too much of an org vs. org challenge, as the strongest org with the most fighters will be the default winner. (We really went through all this before, if you don't believe me!)

Winning team will choose who gets the seal, you mean.

Isn't that kind of... suited to War? And no, it's not the strongest org, it's the strongest coalition at the time (which right now is not so cut-and-dry).
Then the coalition turns and feeds on itself, depending on who is left standing... which in a blinding melee is far from assured.
The whole 3-v-3 thing has always felt a bit forced to me, for War.

Trust me, it is not a good idea. Free for alls like that generally end in pain, accusation and a headache for the admin.

I hope you're being facetious, Xenthos, because that is a legitimately terrible idea.
In regards to Seal-bearers, my opinion is thus:
If you win a Seal, step aside to let a new generation prove their stuff. Seriously.
It's the same names and the same teams in the same challenges. The same people get the same Medallion - in the same condition where they probably don't actually need it, because they're just getting it to trade in a cubix, or they're just getting a second one because they just wanted to farm an additional 2,000 credits. You're a Sealbearer, act like it instead of some sort of chronic min-maxer.
When's the last time someone legitimately new stepped up and proved themselves? The best chances for that to happen seem to only exist in Beauty or, if we're really lucky, Chaos.

A blinding melee would be kind of cool, if by that you mean everyone is anonymous. Although I guess that's still easily gamed if you're communicating with each other, so meh.

Oh, I'm sure it would, heh. The current setup is not really headache free either (given how you decided to shake it up mid-challenge this year). I would like to see War actually feel more like a war instead of a handful of little skirmishes with no real oomph, though. As to how that can be done reasonably, who knows.
To Alianna: Feel free to support me for TA, and I'll never be able to compete again!
Otherwise you can bet I'll be trying again!
Rika2011-02-08 01:09:53
With Xenthos on supporting me for TA. Until then, I'm just going to try win more medallions. I actually would rather win a medallion of a different type and keep it than win another nature and not being able to justify keeping it against the 2k credit bonus.

That's kind of an interesting idea. What if by entering the fray, your identity is hidden - no one can see your name or race - and your ability to communicate is nullified. You can't use Says, Emotes, CTs, GTs, GNTs, Squad tells, CGTs, Newbie, ANYTHING. Folks might make guesses but there'd be no way to know for sure who's who. Just a big glorious blood-shed bash until one person is left standing.
Esano2011-02-08 01:18:57
How would you target each other? If you can distinguish between people in order to target them, then you can distinguish between people in order to not do so (ie, everyone on our side meet up at the source of the river).

Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Skype, MSN, AIM...

Maybe you'd be assigned a random identifier to replace your name to be used to target with.

You can't see your own random identifier so you wouldn't be able to tell anyone via AIM who you are and you can't emote so you can't say "I'm the one jumping up and down right now."

I can see several ways to bypass that, really, and I'm not even a combattant. One of the easiest ways would be to go "I'll do attack x, y and z against my target in that order; let me know if it's you".
Noola2011-02-08 01:39:26
Well, it was just an idea. This is probably why I'm not in charge of anything!
Sylphas2011-02-08 01:43:11
Just fight the whole thing under blackout, with permanent marauder's masks.
Unknown2011-02-08 02:04:34
Everyone gets randomized maurauder's masks with uncurable dementia!
Maybe that should be the Chaos Seal event instead, heh.
