Wooo! Anyone else celebrating this holiday?

Single people, enjoy your discounted candy sales that start tomorrow! Enjoy going to clubs and being able to flirt without regret! Bask in the glory of one night stands, badly done horror movies, and alcohol. This is a day of great celebration.

Anyone who says it is Valentine's Day/they are not single is to be booed from the thread and forced to cut down the tallest tree in Glomdoring. With a herring.

Secretly, I'm kinda glad I don't have to deal with all the expectations of Valentine's Single Awareness Day. I secretly enjoying hearing my friends worrying about what to do for their significant other, seeing the priceless expression of someone who found out Monday is Valentine's Day on Sunday night and watching the day-long entertainment of poor boyfriends carrying over-sized plushies and smothered with pink, heart-shaped balloons for their girlfriends.

Schadenfreude is my cure for bitterness.

Actually, having just walked through town to catch my bus home I have to say it IS pretty funny to see big butch guys pulling pink heart shaped balloons on a string in one hand and carrying flowers and/or little teddy bears (with hearts) in their other hand

I am enjoying my Single's Awareness Day pizza, with added expensive french cave cheese and roast ham.

I think I've only ever given a single present on this day, and it wasn't even to a girlfriend. All in all, it's not even a day I pay much attention to Just another day among the 364 other ones.

It was supposed to be my day off but I went into work. So I celebrated being single by making money not spending it.

I'm celebrating by completely forgetting what the day is. Seriously, didn't recall that was today until reading this, and probably going to stop thinking about it again like a minute after this post.

I forgot it was... that day. The feeling of Monday overwhelmed any jubilation or dread that I would've felt regarding this holiday.

Told my boyfriend that if he bought me flowers, he'd be a dead man. Then again, that is a general rule of mine, as pretty as flowers are, they go bad after like a week or two and then you throw them out again. Only plants that have some actual soil under them allowed in this house.

I did use the occasion as an excuse to nag for chocolate, which I received. I'm a sucker for the stuff, so any excuse is a good one in my book

Honestly though, two thumbs up to those who don't get dragged into the commercialized stuff and either have a great singles day, or use it as an occasion to reach out to friends, family and others who could do with some extra love.

My stash of frozen discounted Christmas candy always runs out before Easter, so what would I do without the bounty of Day After Singles Awareness Day?

Is it bad that I'm single and I don't really mind the alternative universe version of this event?

I mean, this isn't /r9k/! People aren't forever alone by nature, that's silly.

I celebrated by selling another 1,600 or so cupcakes. And even my co-worker (who is NOT a love interest or potential love interest, but rather my partner-in-cupcake-making-awesomeness) was sick today, so I was effectively super-single. And super loving it.

I can fix? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey cupcake.

I spent today playing Scrabble, Pokemon Stadium, and singing with roommates along to the radio.

(Also schoolwork but who pays attention to that.)

I'm not single, but you all are so cool that I'm jealous. I want to hear more celebration stories!

I ate leftover chicken McNuggets, watched reality shows and Sherlock Holmes, and acted as tech support for my stepdad with his new cell phone.


I'm living the high life.

I spent the day finding and randomly complimenting my female friends. An excellent use of my time, seeing is it practically assures me baked goods after my neuroscience test in a few days. Other than that, I spent the day studying for said test, and taking a break with chicken nuggets and reading Sherlock Holmes. Nothing too special.
