The regardless of flavor text comment was meant to address Ushaara's concern. The three scum mentioned, Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, and Dong Zhou, are most assuredly alive. They no doubt have their own unique win conditions. Indeed, the flavor text makes it SEEM like they are dead, but as they are players, that would just be a dick move by the mod to whack them if they don't win by a certain day. Hence why all the flavor text talks about 'defeating' or 'driven off' or 'fled to the west' but not KILLED.
Also Ushaara let me correct you again over an assumption you're making. There is NO anti-Han 'faction'. Dong Zhou, Lu Bu, Yuan Shao, Casilu, they're all this for themselves. They all are opposed to the factions true, but to assume that they are one big happy family is a grave mistake.

Woo for clarity, thanks!

Why? We have plenty of people, not like we are going to to run out of them. A double lynch means double the chance of killing an anti-Han, and even if not an anti-Han there is a 2/3 chance that the individual killed will be one of my enemies.
QUOTE (Llesvelt @ Mar 2 2011, 12:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
To be honest, I am a bit wary of killing you off, Diamondais, because I fear you might be Wei >_>
You know, this is kind of bothering me. You went from wanting to kill two people yesterday because of the chance of them not being aligned to you (66%), to not wanting to kill someone who said on the same day that they wanted out, based on the same odds that they would be (33%). Actually, if you'd killed two people on the same day wouldn't the odds that both of them weren't aligned to you be 44% at that point? So the 66% chance that Diamondais wasn't on your side would have made more sense going from a probability standpoint?
I guess what I'm saying here, is your reasoning doesn't make much sense to me from where I am standing, sir. To be honest, it's making me a teensy bit suspicious!
Which is actually a little comforting because I haven't had anyone to suspect pretty much this whole time hah.
Razenth2011-03-02 18:46:00
I think his math was just off.
Diamondais2011-03-02 18:48:31
I think you guys are just mean.

Wow, that does seem terribly inconsistent.
I fail at logic/math.
I guess it just feels like there is a bigger chance that if only one person is going to get lynched that it will be one of my allies, with two people being lynched it at least feels like it will be one of my allies AND some other bastard.

Xikue, Yuan Shao is clearly mentioned in the opening post to Day 3. In addition, the Battle of Guan Du was fought between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao, which is the major historical event this day represents.
Ssaliss, I agree, others also seemed to focus on town-scum instead of faction-antiHan. However, since I only get one vote, if you would kindly point them out, I'll vote for them.

Yes, I noticed. Thank you for clarifying the "regardless of flavour text" part. (And it's spelled Zhuo!)
I don't think the flavor text makes them seem dead. Just that they lost some battles.
Unknown2011-03-02 19:50:30
Honestly it didn't bother me too terribly much besides that I found it kind of weird and inconsistent. I just want something to do besides sitting and waiting for something.
Razenth2011-03-02 19:52:03
You could declare to which faction you belong. Then we can decide whether to gank you or not.

Okay, as you wish Razenth. Here are everyone who made a post mentioning pro-han VS anti-han (or town vs scum or similar):
Llandros
Diamondais
Llesvelt
Silferras
Xikue
Romertien
Ssaliss
And that's not even mentioning everyone throwing the term "scum" or "town" around on their own. I also found a few odd gems of yours...

I find your desire to drag this out so long enough that we lose momentum and everyone forgets that they're actually playing this game rather scummy. There are now 19 players. Assuming 6/6/4/3, a random kill has a better chance of whacking someone who will eventually be a threat.
We know roleclaims will do nothing but help scum and other factions. We know that power claims will do nothing but help scum. So what else is there? Just sit around for another week hoping something happens? Well here's something happening.

*sigh* There is no town, there is no scum. Even if you kill me, you just help some other faction that will become scum in the end. There will be no point going after Arix or Xikue because they could simply be part of a different faction than I am. In which case they would still be 'town', but just a different part of 'town' and if a different faction from you, will become 'scum' eventually when there's few enough people.
It would be hilarious if we were all on the same side though.
It would be hilarious if we were all on the same side though.
So first you say there are scum, then you change your mind and say there is no scum, and then you say other factions will become scum? I'm surprised Rika didn't vote for you instead... also, again, for highlight:

Did you really say that killing you will help _some other_ faction that will become scum?
Razenth2011-03-02 19:59:12
Yup. Because in the end, there scum and town are just words that you bandy around. The concepts that they embody are mutable and flexible in this game, rather then set in stone like in other games.
Razenth2011-03-02 20:00:41
Oh, and hey, you're on the list of peeps who talked about town and scum.
SSALISS, I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL! MAY HEAVEN AND EARTH SHAKE AT OUR METTING! PREPARE YOURSELF!

Razenth2011-03-02 20:02:37
Rika voted for her too.

I love me a good duel.
Preferably with a dead rebel scum to go.
