I've been informed of this meetip! Despite not being active in oh.. 3? Years? I'll be there!

I am very tempted, despite map quest telling me it'll take 3 1/2 hours to drive it. Despite South Jersey being close to DC, you gotta drive up, then down, meer. Though fiance is willing to go, as long as we like, visit a museum while we're there, so it's not only just to see people heh. I'm considering it, the drive is going to be a killer. And no, I won't take the train or bus, that...would be really bad for me also.

I'm terrified of public transportation and traveling by myself, and it's too far for me to pester anyone into taking me. So...probably not going.

I am sorely tempted, as my office is only a few blocks away from Dupont Circle and the company so far seems excellent.

...I have friends going to DC over the break for a concert. The desire to mooch a ride is strong.

I drive in DC several times during the week, though mostly in the evenings. It's not bad at all, just have to get used to the circles.

There's some free street parking that takes effect right around dinner time, which is always great after a 50 minute drive. I'll be driving from the Columbia, MD area. Phoebus, don't think you're far away at all.. you'd just need to hitch a ride to 95/295 and get picked up on the way. 295 is what I'd recommend. Or take the MARC train and bypass it all.

Anyone coming in from the north, just know that between DC and Baltimore, going south at rush hour is not terribly trafficked. Take 295 over 95, because eventually you will need to take 295 and you might as well avoid the hellish five mile stretch on 495 to get there. I'd imagine coming from north of Baltimore, though, will be annoying.. but it's nothing compared to driving north at that hour on 95 or driving anywhere in Northern Virginia.
