Yeah, this is my second game of mafia, so I am really trying to observe what is going on and look at different strategies. I'm still interested in playing, but sometimes I feel a little lost in the arguments back and forth as I don't feel I have much to add.

Don't worry too much about saying something stupid. The game is driven by saying stupid things. The point is to say as much as possible so we have a lot of stupid things to analyze, and figure out what is town stupidity, and what is scum stupidity. Observation will only take you so far after all.

Yeah, I think my main issue is that I get gun-shy when vets jump all over 'scum tells'...because I really have no idea what those are so I don't want to inadvertently get myself killed for not knowing something that is apparently a basic concept. So I guess I'll make an effort to say more stupid stuff?

Also a mod question. Is the deadline-until-modvig-catastrophe mean a strict 48-hours for people to get their post count up or is it until just someone is lynched? Shamarah's at 5/9 so far, sounds like he's giving up on the game, and there hasn't been very much discussion at all otherwise about it. It's going to be crazy if 8 people (mostly town) just get offed after an avalanche of votes to keep things moving along.

I'm the same, about not wanting to 'mess up' because I don't know what I'm doing. In my only other game, I got accused of a few scum tells when I was just being a newb.

Well, lots of times when people are accusing you of scum tells, they're trying to make you trip up and reveal yourself.
