Dear players of Lusternia,
As patron of Hallifax and Admin in charge of the addition of the two lost cities to Lusternia, I have been asked to inform you of the alterations that have been decided upon by the Administration.
After nearly one-and-a-half year, activity and immersion of the Lost Cities (Hallifax and Gaudiguch) has not reached the goals set by the Administration when they were introduced around Christmas 2009. Hallifax' activity has recently plummeted because of unknown factors and Gaudiguch still has not achieved the level of cultural and roleplay immersion that we have been trying to establish for the past 18 months. Furthermore, empiric statistical analysis has shown that since the introduction of the two cities, political, power and diplomatic stability have decreased by as much as 23%, which is causing increased frustration and anguish among the playerbase.
Because of this, we have decided to slowly phase out the lost cities, starting exactly 1 week from now on 0:00 GMT with the removal of the Institute and the Illuminati. These shall then be followed by the combination of Sentinels/Templars and Aeromancers/Pyromancers, each after one week. Last shall be the transferral of the cities to 'village' status, which will make them influence-able to the remaining organisations. Once this process is fully completed, we will open up Ackleberry and Jojobo on Roark's private test server. Further information about this shall be forthcoming.
We understand that this may come as a shock to some of you, but we are assured that it is necessary to ensure the long-term stability of Lusternia as a whole. We ask that all players who have active characters that have invested into either of the Lost Cities send a list of their characters, along with the approximate amount of credits invested to support@lusternia.com so that we can prepare a credit refund.
Yours sincerely,
The Lusternia Admin Team

Was bound to happen at some point with how they've been going. Shame that you finally had to pull the plug on it after Glomdoring managed to avoid it all those years ago though.

An unfortunately timely announcement.

Only if you promise to delete certain characters within those orgs too.
Llandros2011-04-01 17:08:40
Aw, that's sad and bound to be dissapointing to those affected.

Oh great, now we'll have even more furries.
Why do I imagine this is some sort of under the table deal with Munsia?

I kind of assumed this would be how the villagers would be determined. Will you be announcing how the selection process for that is going to work ahead of time or will we just have to wait and see and move the other characters out when it happens?

Oh man, good point, I'm getting pretty excited now.

As sad as this is, having been in Halli since day 1, it is definitely the right decision. I'm not sure how the admins don't know what caused the drop in Hallifax activity, it is pretty obvious that it is the griefing and poor sportsmanship of Celest and Glom. At least we're getting our credits refunded.

I see this happening to Iytha and Prav, definitely.
Sadly, Prav still won't have a proper description.

Elostian lost me in the first sentence.
Everyone knows Lyreth is the true patron of Hallifax.

Bwahahaha. Mission Accomplished! U mad?
Personally, I think they should not get their credits refunded. People like Arel, in particular, who left Glom in an Arel-less lurch deserve all the punishment they get for their poor decision making.
What are they going to do with the rooms though? I think it would be cool if some of their nominal players were turned into ccc's and we could vie for them like new villages, also a nod to the time the players spent there, I suppose. Alternately, a midbie-highbie bashing ground? I know people always have trouble getting through the 80-85 hump.

I hear that Hallifax asked for it...

I sort of knew this day would come.

Well, I planned on coming back to Glom but if you're going to be like that, I'll just go to Mag.

Honestly, I think Arel would be best in Serenwilde. I can picture it now... you, snuggled up with a sassy fox-furry at Moonhart Mother, some sort of fizzy drink in hand, making merry....

Quick, someone, draw this now. Memorialize it forever.

Let's wait and see how Jojobo and Ackleberry turn out before we immediately throw out their viability as orgs and all bail to the old ones. You guys have no faith.

You act like you will be able to get to it. Don't need people like you 'tainting' up those places from the start.
