Back to Common Grounds.

Ialie misread the syntax for setting a family style and now we can't change it again without throwing a quarter million gold down the hole! sad.gif Unless someone in high places takes pity on us.

So... Kalas got around 5k in the last 12 or so hours. 40 times that would already be the cap. The numbers involved are really too high

1k was from appointing a patron (a bug occurred that cleared it and city alignment) and they had ~9 village influence tics from Rikenfriez (at 350 honour a pop). Since it tics so often (every few mobs, more in UV villages than in topside ones) I lowered the amount it's worth to 50 (which accounts for 2700). Accounts for 3700 of the 5k, there was also a bug in some of the passive gain (which of course has been fixed) that gave some of the newer houses (inalai/shervalian/shevat/etc) some extra honour.

So we are keeping an eye on it and adjusting as we feel is necessary.

I trust that the bug will be fixed for other historical houses as well? d'Murani cannot seem to align itself with Magnagora.

If I wasn't a Skypume, I'd definitely belong in the lolwut? circle with Casilu.

Got this after a short while of influencing, yet all the influencing I do after it doesn't add a second line. How does the interval work, is there some cooldown or do you need more and more for the next honour gain? Ixion did gain two honour entires for hunting shortly after each other, and while I don't know if that was in different places or what not, it makes me curious.
Eventru2011-05-04 09:38:14
Hunting and influencing gain is relative to the strength of the mobs you're influencing.

IE, if you're influencing in Newton, you're going to get what you'd get for influencing kephera - but much, much, much slower.

Also, the epic quest bonus, can that be retroactive, please?

This would be really nice. Or if we can get the bonus for doing the three quests over again or something, I dunno, I'm just looking at my mandala and frowning because HONOOOOOOOR.

Insert picture of Zuko here, if you like.

I'm pretty sure retroactive honor gains are off the table. However, if not I have a few elected terms, prestige works, and several years worth of village influences, defending, debating, and general gameplay I'd like to submit a claim for!
Shiri2011-05-04 15:06:23
And that several-year lead we had!

EDIT: That said, most of those things can be done again, at least in theory, the orgbix would require you to quit the org and come back which is just no.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that and not the other ones. Also orgbixes are probably super-trackable; just check how many people have them. Though very few families are capable of formally aligning with an organization yet, so the point is probably moot! (On that note, is there a reason banner houses can't declare a formal association?)

Hey Sylphas, put a spin on it. You did it on purpose, for the eventual greater glory of your family!

I'd disagree. I can't bash to Demigod again. I can't write those specific prestige works again. Those are lost honor gains! Anything I do moving forward doesn't negate all the masses of honor I never got credit for - including the orgbix. In theory they could track how much honor I should have gotten for some of these clear things but it's just a slippery slope. Easier to just say no to retroactive and be done with it.

I doubt they are going to do retroactive gains. Even if they did, you still have the opportunity to earn honour points in those categories you mentioned. Even though you may not be able to get it for past books again, you can always submit more books for the honour. You can always bash more things, even though you are demigod. You can't actually get the honour from the epic quest again unless you quit your organization, which isn't really feasible for most people. The others are repeatable, the epic request really isn't.

I'm not going to belabor the point but I think we have different ideas of what "repeatable" means.
