So everyone, I started this thread as a discussion area about Ackleberry, and if it's coming back or not. I actually really want it to come back. Does anyone know if it will or not? I never get a straight answer out of anyone.

It took what, 5 years for Hallifax and Gaudiguch to come out? I figure by 2015 or so we'll know for sure if Ackleberry and Jojobo will be around.

That, or if we'll have Bards and Monks for the two cities.
I imagine that it is part of The Vision that Estarra has to have it come back at some point or another, there is certainly hints to it here and there (you should try summoning the River Daughter if you haven't yet!). In the mean time, invite friends of yours to come play, fall in love, boost the numbers and start worshiping the game. May help!

Those sort of things probably depend more on playerbase growth than 'yes/no'.
So get more players!
So get more players!

Well, that means we all got a while to wait. I'm guessing Jojobo will be the natural enemy of Ackleberry.
WHY THE HECK CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG?????
Probably because Old Celest really screwed up good with Cosmic Hope

Everything is Celest's fault, so go to this link so that we might help repair it all sooner.
Diamondais2011-05-15 17:05:55
Yeah, Celest messes everything up. God Celest, stop it.
cyro2011-05-15 17:10:49
The rising credit market prices are actually Celest's fault. Celest created the taint, blah blah blah, etc. etc. etc.
As you can tell, I hear it a lot.
So looking over the history of Lusternia, looks like Ackleberry will probably worship Sister Lake like Glomdoring worships Night and Crow, or Serenwilde worships Hart and Moon. Any idea who the other thing Ackleberry will worship?

Why, Bear of course! It's home to the Tae'dae and Furrikin. There shall be much honey.

Indeed. Doing the Lolliprin quest gets you honeysap logs.
Though while everyone is guessing that Ackleberry will be the natural enemy of Jojobo, I am personally not really seeing it. I don't see anything that would put them at direct conflict, except Lake becoming badass in protecting Night from Sun, but then again, apparently the sun wiccans even acknowledge that Sun is loopy. If anything, it seems more to me that Ackleberry and Jojobo will ally against traitorous Serenwilde and tainted Gloriana, making for a glorious FFA between the forests.
My real concern regarding Ackleberry is that if it returns, it'll probably be filled with drama.

Smallll little fix, since I can't spell the place anyways! Lolliprin is in Newton.

The Digg site is better, IMO, because at least it's trying to reach other people outside of the same MUD players. (I think the audience for TopMudSites is tapped and hasn't been growing).
cyro2011-05-15 18:11:35
Nah probably won't be much drama in Ackleberry.
Before the Taint it was filled with Tae'dae and Furrikin. I've been to that village of them at the foot of Avechna. No, it'll probably be more like Eleusis in Achaea.

I think by "drama" they are talking about the players all jockeying for positions of power, not the IG conflict, but rather the blur between IC and OOC desires and conflicts when the initial rulers get setup. That's always the hardest thing--the first rulers, for good or for ill, have some influence on the direction of the organizations. And sometimes it might even conflict with the admins vision (which is why they have Divine involved as well as events and such to help set the direction).

Ah right. Tolborolla. My fault.
Tully understood it. I have no problem with Ackleberry ending up in conflict with the other orgs. I just don't want it to end up with some desperate failure of a power struggle and drama that puts even your average soap opera to shame.
Sylphas2011-05-15 19:28:01
I dunno, every established player I've heard express an interest in Ackleberry has also expressed an interest in brutally stomping any "Lalala snuggles" tendencies, so as long as that goes through I think Ackleberry should get off on a good foot. Everything beyond the initial and hopefully lasting push in a certain RP direction is pretty inconsequential.
Eventru2011-05-15 19:29:03
We've already plans in motion to make 'Glomp' an ackleberry-only emote...

That will not in itself stave of any power struggle between cliques though. But that seems more a consequence of how all orgs develop, meaning it'll happen eventually to Ackleberry too, unfortunately.
