Hey hey booboo...

Well, Honeyguard is (in my opinion) too obvious of a name, and no one would take the knights seriously. If anyone has noticed, the names relate to the city or commune of choice. Serenguard, Paladins (Holy knights of light.), Ur'Guard (Death Guard in Orchlachi), they all relate to what they fight for. Ackleknight or Treeguard? Or it could be in another language. What is knight in Tae'dae or Furrikin? That should probably be in the name of the Knight guild of Ackleberry.
(seriously, what is Knight and Forest in Furrikin or Tae'dae? That'll probably be the dominant races in Ackleberry. Any ideas?)

You know what guards honey? Bees. Bees are hardcore. No one wants to eff with bees unless they have bee-proof body armor on.

So the Ebonguard fights for ebony?

The nexus of Ackleberry is also the Golden Honeysap, so.
Honeyguard goooo!
Honeyguard goooo!

They fight for the right to wear black makeup.

Maybe in the interim we'll get some sort of Jungle/Savanah area that gives hints what Jojobo might be like, similar to what happened in the past.

But seriously, I can understand finishing off the cities but the basin is kinda dominated by the cities right now and it would be cool to balance that out, plus no matter how much you want you guild, there are going to be people wanting the forests just as much. I don't know how the decision was reached, but it would be interesting to see whether it could have been the forests that came out rather than the cities.
The crux of the issue isn't how "cool" it would be to finish off the cities, but rather the current lack of org-level balance, in e.g. guard, archetype and tradeskill availability. Rather than opening another two orgs and leaving them in a state of half-completion, leaving us with that many more guild slots to fill over time (and thus even stronger hardcoded imbalance between old and new orgs), it makes far more sense of get bards and monks added to Hallifax and Gaudiguch first.

Am I the only one that would rather see ackleberry as an npc area, at least for the beginning?

Nope, I think that would be appropriate providing the inhabitants survived whatever happened to them. Who knows, they went willingly and differently to the cities, might've worked out!
cyro2011-05-16 21:42:08
It shouldn't be an NPC area. Didn't Ackleberry do basically the same thing as Gaudiguch and Hallifax? Went between the fabrics of space? And what happened with Gaudiguch and Hallifax. Only 1 (count em', 1!) survivor. It wouldn't be an area, it'd be a graveyard.
Diamondais2011-05-16 21:44:35
Wasn't exactly the same, we have no idea if they went to the same place, or if they went elsewhere, or if time stopped or continued or.. we just know they have a fairly strong hatred towards most orgs!
Gleip2011-05-16 21:47:54
It's implied by the river spirit you summon that the forest is alive and well elsewhere, meaning that they just moved. Pretty sure they're all alive and well somewhere.
Everiine2011-05-16 22:01:37
And I think some of the dreams imply that only the center of the forest, the commune proper, was actually taken away. I get the feeling that the forest itself is still there and could be opened as an area.

How was Glomdoring handled as an NPC area? Was there aspects? Avatars? Could Serenwilde attack the drums back then?

Crow was there, sometimes. Avatars and Aspects were not added until it became a full Commune.
Lendren2011-05-16 22:16:07
There weren't drums, or avatars. And this was before even Serenwilde had aspects; aspects came in during the Dreamweaving release event, which was after Glomdoring was a commune. It was basically a bashing/quest area; its quests were related to Serenwilde's, and in a way they were like conflict quests, but more similar to how you can attack Celest by doing stuff in the Inner Sea, than how you can attack Celest by doing stuff on Nil.
