I sense another guild hop on the horizon.
Come2SD.

Me? Nah, Harbs to begin if I did, maybe Blackton or Nekotai. Doubtful I'll jump anytime soon though. I need to pick up Shofangi and Stag first anyway, so I'm Seren-unique omniflexed.
Xiel2011-06-10 01:45:00
Yay omniflexing! I want more to learn, please.
Diamondais2011-06-10 02:03:07
But we'll treat you so well, make you beautiful and young. You'll never remember your old, false life as a Seren.

But, but, I got aged for a reason! I like being 220+.

No, you need to move to Halli so we can hang out. Or figure out where I'm moving next so we can hang out. Because we have Reiha now.

I find it funny how some people are posting about "fixing", if you will, Serenwilde but aren't doing anything about it IG.
Lendren2011-06-10 12:25:48
When it comes to fixing Serenwilde, everyone has their own personal axe to grind that they think is the problem, and which usually takes precedence over actually looking closely at what's wrong and what can be done about it. (And the "nothing's wrong" chorus also doesn't help.) For my part, I'm mostly waiting for the Circle to decide it's time to recruit for Culture again. I think it may finally be time that my previous efforts and previous plans could finally be supported and actually get to be tried out.

Either I need a reality check and a good hiatus or I need to move Iasmos some place more accepting and fun again.
Advice?

A hiatus might be due - sometimes (even imagined) responsibility can really wear you out. Good luck finding something that makes things fun for you again!

That should fix the tree hugging.
Sorry, couldn't help myself

I think I see some people trying. We just need everyone to start trying. Everyone needs to care more. This really goes back to the whole "waiting for someone to walk along and fix us". There's a big question of how to get us moving forward as well. I'd rather some help finding an answer to that question than some snide remark :/

But that's not the solution: that's the problem. The solution will be whatever makes it so everyone does start caring. It won't be anyone saying, here or there or anywhere, "everyone needs to start caring". If it were that simple, it would have been solved forever the first time Merloch made a speech. What we need is a plan which will cause people to start caring again.

If you figure it out, let Hallifax know. We've had a bad case of apathy for awhile now.

This.
Also, I'm wondering if some of it has to do with the fact that Lusternia started with three orgs, and Seren had no polar opposite, and then even when Glom came out we were superior to them for a long time. Those days are over. Perhaps we're blaming too much of our problems on Glom, and not enough on ourselves. We can't do anything about Glom, but we can fix ourselves.

Well, if the plan that I proposed a while back ever gets put to the test and turns out to work, I'll be happy to license it to Hallifax. There's not a single org in Lusternia I wouldn't like to see cured of that kind of apathy wherever it exists, because Lusternia is better for everyone when this kind of problem isn't bothering anyone. (We seem to forget that a lot these days.)

If Serenwilde needs a Messiah, support one when that Messiah steps up. Same with Hallifax. Paragons get what needs doing done, but paragons need people to support them.
The issue is that you're dealing with a King of the Pirates scenario (read: Pirates of the Caribbean). Either anyone willing to be a Messiah isn't willing to let anyone else be said Messiah, or the people that aren't willing won't support anyone to be it.
Don't ask for a Messiah then refuse to leave the boat.

They need to be able to walk on water, turn water into win, and feed a thousand people with a loaf of bread and some fish.

It'd be nice if it didn't take them three days to Phoenix, though.
Also, only Aquamancers can turn water into win. That's a little difficult for the rest of us.
