Back to Common Grounds.

Different mindsets, yes, but they've been coded to ignore all influences except for weakening and empowering. No honest idea why weakening is available since the only people who'd want to weaken them are enemies to the org who would kinda get eaten by said guards, but still. Yay guard influencing.
Sarrasri2011-06-12 18:29:47
Guards are immune to all influence types except empower and weakening. Was changed a while back when people started complaining about guards being seduced and some other things like that.

Huh, I thought it was all of the potential harmful influences (paranoia, weakening, seduction). Good to know, though.

Back again with more questions! I was curious as to which guilds are more relaxed in nature? Currently I feel the guild I am part of is a little too strict in regards to time I am spending playing the game. I'm looking for a guild where I can get online and do as I wish no matter the time. I work 80-100+ hours depending on how busy the hospital is and sometimes I can only be available for 30 minutes or so and I wish to just play and have fun and not worry about certain requirements at times like this, or at least postpone them. Any guilds like this that still have fun archetypes? Thanks again! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm pretty sure most of the guilds don't have a strict "you must advance" policy, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding one. I think all of the guilds have an advancement system, but very few (if any) will actually force you to do it.

The guild in question isn't more or less strict than the other guilds (unless you're in Gaudiguch--I haven't spent much time over there). We'll ask you now and then how you're doing and if you need help advancing, because guildfavours are cool and we want you to feel cool, too, but--except for the random odd thing we ask you to do to be part of the rest of the crowd--we can't force you to do anything.

However, when you blow up on GT, you'll pay for it. That's just the cycle of things!

Edit: To answer your question, though, you might give Moondancers a try if you like the skills. They aren't too different (Shadowdancers and Moondancers are both wiccan archetypes), but the Moondancers use different battle tactics to go along with their Moon totem skills. Good luck! I have no idea what their strictness level is.

No worries I understand the paying for it. It was more of the you should be doing this rather than that type of thing that was getting to me. That and working the past 20 hours and having to go back to work again soon aka me being a crabby ass. Ugh if my job didn't pay so much I would find a new one!

Maybe it's just mine, but bard guilds tend to be more laid back. In the Spiritsingers there are only rewards for doing stuff, but never anything pushing people towards doing anything, because that's the kind of incentive that works best for creativity.

Shofangi seems very relaxed, at least of all the guilds I've been part of. They'll leave you be if you keep to yourself but are very friendly if you want to be social. Part of that may be due to the fact that there are usually only one or two of us in-realms at a time, but it works for me.

Spiritsingers have been the best guild I've been in, in terms of relaxedness. The advancement system is actually also a very flexible reward-based thing, and didn't feel very choresy (just skip the ones you don't like!). They also have pretty awesome people and are pretty active.
Aramel2011-07-22 13:05:21
Spiritsingers are very good in terms of guild dynamics. I've honestly never seen better.
Jack2011-07-22 13:15:26
Well, you have Lendren.
Shishi2011-07-22 13:40:20
I will rave about the awesomeness of the Spiritsingers, they are really really cool when I was there on an alt.

The Aeromancers are very laidback, but it is still in Hallifax. So I mean...not stereotypical-Gaudiguch-citizen-level laidback, but still. Our whole schtick we're trying to work into our advancement is finding your strengths and exploring them to grow into the best little Aeromage you can be, so with the exception of basic tasks everyone has to do (like explore Continuum) you wouldn't be forced to do anything you hate to advance (like explore Continuum). Or forced at all to advance. Take your time. Though we do love it when people are motivated!
Diamondais2011-07-22 21:25:49
Blacktalon, we're rather laid back. But nobody likes being a Druid anymore.
Unknown2011-07-23 06:25:27
You should keep in mind that if you are in a melder guild (druid, mage), you'll be abused repeatedly during fights, even if you don't want to fight. sad.gif
