Probably, but 2800 staffs are fair, right? I doubt it will change until Fillin goes geo and spams it.

Hah. And you peoples complained about Thul's Oothai damage. Looks like mages have their day to be OP.

Last I heard, no one (not even the admin) knows exactly how armor works. Best estimate I've heard is that it protects against roughly half of the stat (so if your robes are 50/50, it removes 25% of the cutting and blunt damage). There are likely a dozen variables that goes into that though.
Non linear scaling.
If a weapon tends to only change in increments (usually of 5 I believe) why would you expect robes to be different?
I would love to see a recoding of weapons/armor but that would be a HUGE undertaking and the balancing would be a bear.
Janalon, you werent here for Forren, Aquas were the first OP staffers. Now they can just go asphyx and ignore most peoples ability get dmp (What skills give asphyx dmp? hyperventilate, blue in lowmagic, and hold breathe but be realistic you wont maintain hold breath 100% of the time they are hitting you specially in groups).

5 DMP Kirigami,
5 DMP AmberBeer,
10 DMP DevoutShield,
(insert other ALL DMP defs)
10 DMP LowMagic Blue,
10 DMP Acro Hyperventilate,
10 DMP Tattoo Damage Absorbption (double if TatMaster).
?? DMP Astrology, Burning Censer,
That's all I see from my DMP Database (heh, the project lives in other ways!). The commonly available asphyx DMP will at least get you to 25%. Monks should be able to get up around +30%. Dunno, those numbers don'tt seem so out of whack with the amount of defense anyone should be able to raise. Are you sure Tuning just isn't OP?
I wonder if we'll soon see Hold Breath swapped for asphyx DMP. I distinctly remember someone saying that "No skill should give true immunity," when poisoner immunity was swapped out (though, poison shrugging is very different than DMP). Now that we have BodyScan, hopefully Envoys will be able to actively see where there are such Defensive DMP gaps, and issue reports appropriately.

All from the Thul Wins post. And remember, he had a balance malus that would also effect his DPS. Ixion, I hope you are being sarcastic when you said, "Probably, but 2800 staffs are fair, right?" Made me LOL.

This is probably a little more damage, asphyx mind you, that I did as a warrior back when everyone complained until I got nerfed 4-5 years ago and more than Forren's insane staffcast. Observe.
(2237 damage)
2852h, 6500m, 5940e, 2p, elrxkdp<>-
With a hiss, Thul slams his nekai against your throat and presses against your windpipe, painfully choking the life from you.
Throwing a kick in the Spronghai style, Thul slams his right heel on your head.

Thul's aura of weapons rebounding disappears.

Your vision darkens as the power of the unholy water within you strikes back at Thul.
With a quick spin, Thul kicks you in the head with his right foot.
4511h, 6600m, 5940e, 2p, elrkdp<>-

Thul takes a long drag off his pipe.
(1859 damage: note by comparison, destro, which I think everyone currently agrees is way too strong)
4511h, 6600m, 5940e, 2p, elrkdp<>-
Krellan shapes liquid globes of power from the air and hurls them at you. You scream in agony as they splash across your skin and it blackens and burns away.
2652h, 6600m, 5940e, 2p, elrkdp<>-
Edit: I'd bet the 2469 damage is the true damage. I have 3+ different regen sources so it's hard to tell if it ticked on regen.

I like how people can change damage type at a whim now to even the hardest DMP type to get (asphyx) when warriors have to pay credits to change 33%.
obviously. Also the malus didn't slow forms really, he was doing 5k in under 4 seconds at that time.

Pre monk-balance nerf and race changes. Yeah. Though I wonder what a Tae would balance at now.

I fully support warriors being able to have elementally tune-able weapons without having to pay for the damage runes. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. And also a lot more fair.
Ooh, maybe if we get any new herbs on fire and air, they could be used to make oils that you can apply to warrior/monk weapons to have the option to do some tuning for as long as they're on? Maybe they could last like, a handful of hours... oh OR a forging thing, kinda like with the runes, that would let you engrave stuff for tuning? Ohh too many neat ideas that will probably be ignored because lolrunes.
Annnnnd I still want Aeromancers to be able to use asphyxiation damage! Air is kinda our thing. I wanna be overpowered like the other mages too. :<

Geo's have always done amusing damage anyways because of their raise staff giving +20% to all magical source damage.

And doing 3k to 6k health people is ok? (Nyde did 2.2k damage to me, I only have 4500 health). Editted to note: I didn't have proofings at the time, but I'm not even sure what his staff was tuned against.
I think the last thing Mages needed was tuning, but since we do have it, perhaps it's time to upgrade Warriors.
