So I've been trying to Figure out what I've been wanting to do with my powers once I become a demigod (Tonight hopefully) I know it will be a while for me to get most of this stuff but I'd like to have somewhat of a template. I can't find any help files on any of the demigod powers but I believe it is also possible to temporarily learn a power for a day? I seem to remember something like that but can't find any reading on it, can someone explain that more or did that go away?

Anyways I have been looking for some template and was wanting some opinions. Below is the ones that I know I want, and the ones I have a lower priority and their weights I would like some opinions of people who already have the powers, and what they use them for, advantages and disadvantages or just thoughts from people who haven't yet gotten to Demigod but what they would like.

These are the Abilities that I am looking at and am interested in.
CODE
Endowment of Life 9 weight

Endowment of Vanity 9 Weight

Second Trade Skill 12 Weight

Custom Zap 10 Weight
ALTERNATIVELY (Not wanting as much)
Choice Zap 5 Weight

Expand (Low Priority) 3 Weight

Divine Fire (Low Priority) 10 Weight

Choice Look Message (Low Priority) 2 Weight

Choice Enter Message (Low Priority) 2 Weight

Choice Teleport (Low Priority) 2 weight

Endowment of Thought (Low Priority) 9 weight

Refresh 6 Weight (Low Priority)

These are the possible templates I have for the powers I want above. I am under the impression that demigods get 50 weight, if something has differed just tell me. Or if you have another thought please speak up!
CODE
One
+1 Cha (9)
+1 con (9) (18)
Custom Zap (10) (28)
Second Trade (12) (40)
Expand (3) (43)
Choice Look (2) (45)
Choice Teleport (2) (47)
Choice Enter Message (2) (49)

Two
+1 cha (9)
+1 con (9) (18)
Choice Zap (5) (23)
Second Trade (12) (35)
Expand (3) (38)
Divine Fire (48)
Choice Look Message (50)

Three
+1 cha (9)
+1 con (9) (18)
Choice Zap (5) (23)
Second Trade (12) (35)
+1 Int (9) (44)
Expand (3) (47)
Choice Look (2) (49)

Four
+1 Cha (9)
+1 Con (9) (18)
Custom Zap (10) (28)
Second Trade (12) (40)
+1 Int (9) (49)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The way it works is like this:

You can buy powers as Ephemeral or Supernumerary.

Supernumerary take up weight points but stay with you forever. Buying Ephemeral does not take up weight, but has the SAME essence cost, and only remains with you for an IC year. Then you'd need to repurchase it if you wanted it again.

Do also keep in mind that if you lose demigod, you lose all your powers too. It's effectively as full reset.

Having said that, I'd put heavy question on the value of zap. If you just want to have it to zap people with whatever lovelies you can write up, then cool! If you think it will be very useful in combat, well... not so sure. Zaps aren't quite as effective for group spamming now that fewer people have them and there's also a fair bit more electric resistance in the game now than previously. I never bother with touching zap now (but I'm also a physical build, yours will be stronger either way).

Expand may or may not be worthwhile unless you just want to tower over people. The extra resistances associated with size got nerfed quite a bit, and other than that you just get more STR (at the expense of DEX) along with a few hundred more points of health (assuming you're expanding up from faeling size).

Refresh is specifically the h/m/e/end/wp refresh. It's only really useful if you want to have it on demand - if you don't -need- to have it available at any given moment, it's nice enough to just rely on end/wp recovery from wetfold/kirigami decay tic. Refresh Power comes with titan and as such you won't get another shot of it if you buy demigod refresh.

Everything else is pretty straightforward and is either your gravy or not. Hope that helps!

This really helps. Maybe I just won't bother with Zap now, I don't know I kind of like the thought of my custom design, but I definately won't go for choicezap now. As I understand it Divinefire is strictly a Mobs only thing. Does this still effect guards? Really the only use I feel like I'd get out of it aside from maybe being overwhelmed while bashing (Which is almost worth it in and of itself) is trying to get into a village and buy commodities or something of that nature.

The reason I like expand is for the extra couple hundred health and the stomping of toads.

Also on a slightly unrelated note, is Origami something that sells well? I'm thinking about going bookbinding for my second trade skill, or poisons.

There's reasonable demand, but the price is already low enough that I'm not sure you'll make lots of profit from it.

Whoops, I missed this earlier.

Yes, it still works on guards but is otherwise mob-restricted. You have it nailed pretty well.

Sweet Thanks for all of the information you were very helpful!

You know, Zap really seems like something that should be Divinus damage now.

Not really - it's electrical energy. Also, that'd be pretty unfair for glom/mag players especially.
Ilyarin2011-07-27 06:29:25
It could be Divinus for Celest/Seren, Excorable for Glom/Mag, and random between the two for Gaudiguch/Hallifax!

Hallifax should get asphyxiation because aeromancers don't have it with tuning. Clearly.

My custom zap would be a big fist coming out of the sky and knocking the wind out of them. And taking their lunch money. It disappears back into the clouds, but then, slowly...just the middle finger rises back up.
