Doing two quick tests.
Ok here they are:
Gorgogs > 6150 gold in drops, turning in all gorgogs including the generated guards netted an additional 3900 gold. So in under 10 minutes easily you can make over 10,000 gold at the risk of me killing you.
Chancel > Flame warrior drops 881 gold. Guards drop 0 but theres always alot of dwarfs. Worker drops 188. Sentinel dropped 395.
Try fighting 5 of them with blackout though, ugh.

RE: Calixa
Until you're high 90's and above, bashing isn't the way to go. Charity influence/aethertrading is quite profitable before then, and with the lessons from getting to 80 alone (something that happens very quickly if you do it right) you can get wheedling in influence and purser in aethercraft. That's enough to empath/pilot, as well as effectively run charity influence on just about any denizen in the basin.
After that point, it's just a matter of properly utilizing influencing buffs, knowing the right spots to beg, getting your tawdries, etc. Lusternia is fairly small, and I've learned most of what I know by exploring and experimenting. It's a game that rewards inquisitiveness and initiative. Sure, I'll share some of my 'secrets' with people, but of course I'll keep the best. I worked hard to learn them, and others can too. Sure I'll give hints on how to figure it out, but I'm not going to go giving away what should be earned. Otherwise it cheapens the entire gameplay experience. I imagine the same school of thought might apply to others in a similar situation.

Illithoid/kephera - good gold drops + decent turn in
Glacial sea - huge gold drops; personal favourite. You do need to be somewhat tanky to get these, and have a bit of patience for when they stack up, which they often do due to how mobs spawn/move. Bring heaps of fire potions.
Gorgogs/merian - decent turn in, although personally I don't like gorgogs anymore because of teaming/burn levels
Quinotaurs - decent turn in
Moors - okay drops, good turn in with a chance of a great bonus. Usually bashed out because of how easy it is.
Kryden Valik - extension of above, less known so very often full
i'Xiia Asylum - parasites in particular. Good gold drops and not that hard to kill, but for that reason usually bashed out.
Chancel - if I remember correctly, these gave decent gold when influenced, so gold drops should be pretty good too. Almost certain this is true for flame warriors, but not so sure about the rest.
All you had to do is ask.

Where are the areas for them? Best or rather easier way of finding them without a mapping system other then the basic mapview.

Go look at Caffrey's map. None of these areas are so new they don't feature.

Note that the map does not in fact feature the Chancel.

The latest update did, but I have no idea where it disappeared to.

Guess I'll take back what I said about hoarding knowledge That just leaves me curious why this was never drafted into a proper guide. Though in the end bash out an area, record gold, string best areas into a nice loop is simple enough, heh.
Anyway, if we're sharing, the observatory is a good spot too. Beg the ground and upper floors, basement level is bashing. Nothing to turn in though, afaik.
Rocs / manticores are also pretty nice.
Learn which tunnel trash mobs drop gold, perhaps, if everything else is bashed out? Though I guess one could always go Kephera / Illithoid hunting.
Sharks can be turned in at the merian fishmonger. The piggies on the other island have a turn-in too I believe.
Cannot recall if Verasavir offered any gold drops or rewards.
There were turn-ins at Tidal Flats, though very low. Nice bit of quests, though.
Nobody mentioned the Naga yet, that's a turn-in too.
And lastly, I believe turning mobs in at Snow Valley gave gold too. The cats. Never fully explored there yet.

there is a better one, but for Glom's only. There is a book at our library that contains a money making guide.

Give it a week before someone steals it and posts it up.
Sakr2011-09-04 11:38:07
to see someone actually go to the library and read will bring joy into our lives. Even if it's for stealing.
Unknown2011-09-04 16:47:47
Glom's guide is decent. It's missing some good spots, and has more than a few crappy ones with horrid gold/sec ratios and-or sustainability.

That probably could do with some updating. Maybe the Glom showoffs can help lol. I've started to track my own gains, for giggles. Maybe should write a gold counter to match my xp counter
Lendren2011-09-05 00:08:33
I've had a few people volunteer to update it, but no one's come through. Anyone who wants to take it over, just PM me.
Lilian2011-09-08 16:38:52
If the Glom guide is the one I'm thinking of (because I wrote it) it's really, really, really out-dated. Like...pythons being worth 500 gold outdated. Several areas not being around outdated

I miss when Pythons were worth me and there were 6 adders instead of 2.
Unknown2011-09-08 17:19:38
Somebody really should write up a new basic hunting guide, at the least. Not it!

The number of adders depends on doing the (unforgiveably awful) quest to raise them, versus how many die from overhunting. So if you want six, go ahead and raise some more.

There used to always be six whenever I got them. I'm bad at most quest, so it might stay at two.
