Seriously. I don't think I could go back to mage bashing (or guardian, since I'd been considering going Celestine before I took my last long break) after having been a monk. I thought Lobo regen, sweetfount/healspring, and +20% max hp/mana/ego from twirl staff was tanky before, but sheesh. Harmony psymet monk is godly (EDIT: And I don't have to waste power to use pre-buff Sweetfount and to set up a meld). tongue.gif

Of course, I needed a karmic knowledge blessing to not do crap damage as a Lobo mage, and even then 12 Int isn't anything special. Dunno how Daraius did it.

War might have added more damage than Knowledge.
Unknown2011-10-08 01:56:09
Possibly, but I don't have any way of testing it now. Don't feel like dropping more credits to eat the lesson loss of going from monk to mage. Psymet to TP wouldn't be so bad, but Tahtetso to Aquamancy? Harmony (nooooo, my beloved 1p prismatic barrier!) to Phantasms? And I only just got Trans Psymet and Tahtetso anyway. Unless one of you wants to roll up a Lobo-or-lower-Int-race to test War vs. Knowledge for int-based magical damage output.

Not that you would get precise results because, aside from eyeballing how many hits it takes to kill similar mobs, I don't know how you'd test that. Aetolia and Imperian have CONFIG options that will show you exactly how much damage you do to mobs (also, precise balance/eq times) but Lusternia doesn't do that.

You can use beasts.

Actually, on the subject of switching from one archetype to another, I kinda wish we could dispense with the skillflex thing and go with the more intuitive way Imperian handles professions. Once you're journeyman rank or higher (which is Expert or better in all three guild skills, if I remember correctly), you can just switch back and forth and all you lose is time retraining. I mean, we even have Nexus-specific power requirements in most skillsets, so it's not like you can steal class any more effectively than you can now. I'm way more willing to spend credits to get another profession there than bother with getting a Doctoral Cord of whatever here or dealing with the 50 lessons lost every time you skillflex.

But that's just my wishful thinking.

You have no idea how much I miss Nekotai bashing. It was so beautiful and now I'm stuck with a dinky staff. sad.gif

Does that make Kialkarkea my long-lost sister?

Alright. How exactly does enchanting robes work? I just started with enchanting, and after a few sets of robes I've noticed that sometimes the points don't go up, other times they go up by a chunk, sometimes they only go up by one...I have been trying to make sense of it but I'm not that smart and I figure other people who have been at this longer probably have a better idea of how this whole deal works anyway.

Each pulse sticks a random amount into either blunt or cutting (I think 0/1/2). So getting good sets is very RNG dependant. Think old-school forging, but without the part where you get all your metal comms back.

No, I think you pretty much got it.
Ssaliss2011-10-08 14:29:44
If memory serves, each time you enchant a robe, you have a 20% chance of not increasing a stat, 30% of one point in cutting, 30% of one point in blunt, 10% of two points in cutting and 10% of two points in blunt.

What are the "link formations" the Gods use in the Elder Wars, exactly? They seem really important to the plot, but the exact mechanic is left murky, at best. I thought they were just ways of sharing power, but it describes movement, and even makes it seem almost like all the 'fringe' gods in the pattern cease to physically manifest and just become energy, or something.

I recommend asking Terentia, Kalikai or Morgfyre ICly.

Do Czgainy coins restock in the knick knack tent, or were they a one off just for the first day?

From what I have seen, they were initially stocked with 50, then re-stocked with 100 randomly. I haven't seen or heard of any other restockings aside from that one, and it was mentioned over market by someone that they had restocked. So I guess best of luck to look often and keep channels on to hear when they are restocked.

Which tradeskills get to keep their trans thing even after skillflexing/forgetting?
