Oh, the scroll of laurels would be a nice older toy released to general availability with the magic chisel and illusion mastery rune too.

I was looking at those. Also the scythe (which would be one of the more expensive dingbat items).

Also open to ideas for new things!

The scythe seems a little overtly nefarious for a gnome item to me...unless we have a gnafia-run dingbat shop? Hmm.

Beastmaster spurs - halves the time it takes to mount a beast. If you have vault, vaulting costs no balance.
-Minimap - catacombs map for the user only, doesn't take entourages (player, etc), stopped by distort.
-flux capacitor - speeds up the rate at which linking node/nexus gets you power. Maybe have it work for cone/starlink/whatever too.

-Manse beacon - manse artie that allows you to teleport to your manse, needs same plane.
-Beastmaster's whistle - allows you to whistle beasts and they will come to you from any plane/bubble. No more need to beast dismiss and beast summon again. Halves eq time from whistling too.
-Omnitalkie - gives you the broadcast skill in planar and lets you talk from anywhere in Lusternia, bubbles too.

-Alchemist's pocketwatch - lets you sprinkle salt/sulfur for free (free = neverending, still takes bal/eq).
-Gnomish Alarmclock - increases the rate you recover from tiredness by sleeping.
-Crumkane's cookie - a cookie that you can eat over and over and over for some sustenance.

I really, really, really want the beastmaster's items (spurs/whistle), or something like that. As is, no one bothers staying mounted sad.gif

The beastmaster's whistle would be cool. Some of the rest, because it sounds so nice, makes me think it's probably OP.

Omnitalkie, I am thinking it should only work for listening (and would still be valuable at that), but not talking. So it is sort of on the same principle as lipread, but for planar broadcasting. I think it should have the same limitations as planar broadcasting, IE, not including bubbles. Keep the coveted omniscience a rare and unique ability only gained through cults.

I do not like to see any poaching on the already weak artisan stuff (beacon, alarm clock).

Crumkane's cookie would probably need some sort of short respawn time, so it will always be there to save you if you're starving, but you can't spam-eat it to completely and 'instantly' cure all hunger.

From auctions, the Great Rune of Spatial Glasswork seems pretty whimsical to me.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pinky Puddlegum get a diamonut to regen aetherwill at the same rate as the old rockers, which was pretty minimal. (2 extra aetherwill regen per standard tic, I think)

An item that lets you see where your ships are docked, or if they are flying.

I really just want more utility items for beastmastery to make keeping your mount a lot less of a hassle. So spurs and whistle please!

I am fine with the suggestions for both omnitalkie and cookie. You could even make the omnitalkie into a radio you can just listen to to hear people talk, but can't talk back to them.

Like, you can attune the radio to your org or a clan and you get to hear all chat from there, or something.

A deck of poker cards that can allow you to gamble against other players, instead of playing the house. I know there's dice, and we can shoot dice and all, but having a coded Poker game similar to the old online Poker sites, that you can gamble gold, would be fun.

Can't afford to go to the casino every week!

I would rather see drums as a credit artifact. It keeps the absurdity of the terraining crap in check nicely, and without bias.

Likewise for the divine maana. That's something I would specifically buy credits for.

As for dingbattery:

A manse artifact that allows a room to function as a water environment, or an underwater environment.

Gnomish shrink cap: When activated, shrinks the user down to size 1 for 5 minutes (or however long).

Gnomish wrestling belt: When activated, expands the user up to size 20 for 5 minutes (or however long).

Gnomish jetpack: Grants flight for a random amount of time. When time expires, pack strips levitation and plows into the ground.

Helmet of Dwarven Courage: Boosts ego. While worn user steadily becomes more and more intoxicated. (it can have two little kegs on the side, like those novelty beer hats).

Bottle of inner-worm tequila: Highly intoxicating, prone to causing silly dances. Also dangerous- if you accidentally drink the worm, you'll take spurts of damage for a time.
Kiradawea2011-10-01 22:59:26
Gnomish coin magnet.

Automatically scoops up the gold dropped by mobs when you kill them.

Because all games need coin magnets.

I'd be interested in those.

Also I want the scythe. I would deal out some serious credits/dingbats for that bad boy. The maana as well. Goodbye, paycheck.

How about a money clip that automatically stores the gold in itself as well, and works like the basket so only the owner can open? Could also add gold from your inv to it. That would be awesome.

Can't believe I forgot to list this one. This please! dazed.gif

That one conflicts with a tattoo, though.

Hahaha. I love reading through all of your idea. Funny that some of the things that came to mind are also up on this page, most notably the beast whistle (so +1 to that idea).

Beast Ball: THROW BALL and your beast will leave in that direction, wait a second, and return with the playtoy.

Stuffed Inner Worm: This. Maybe something that does a few emotes for gag's sake.

Whoopie Cushion: Drop it in a room. Next person to sit or be sprawled will make a juicy farting sound. Resets to owner.

Gnomish Positioning System: Mechanics work akin to a feather to hone down on roaming holiday gnomes. Great for grabbing that last one.

Mirrored Ball: Makes random words random colors in the long description of indoor rooms, manses only.

Personal Marquis: Sets three "room emote" message-like effects that are viewed by you only. Toggles on and off. Mainly for personal RP.

Boomerang: Allows you to THROW BOOMERANG to retrieve an item from an adjacent room in non-enemy territory. Long, long balance time. (Could also be a grappling hook)

Sapphire Heart Pendant: See a message when your spouse logs into the realms akin to the whole mentor/protege message.

Baconator: Adds the short line "... wrapped in bacon" to the ending of any food item short description.
Unknown2011-10-02 01:37:53
That boomerang or hook should work on players too. For balance.

Maybe the grappling hook, and only with a confirmation message.

Also, on that Helmet of Dwarven Courage, boosts max ego level based on level of drunkenness. No wait, I think that's called beer goggles. No, no, no. Liquid courage!

EDIT: and my Grandmother Scorpion doll please... or at least start releasing the Old Ones. Gotta catch them all!

Beast ball would be awesome, so long as fully customizable (either by paying an additional 50cr or when purchased it is customizable).

Gnomish Positioning System... I like the concept, don't like what it does.

I would really like the Sapphire Heart Pendant.

How about making it a diamount and having it tell you how many creatures are within a given radius from you?

Like LOCATE

LOCATE DRAGON 100 would spit out how many dragons are within a 100 room radius, etc.

Sure, it might not be especially useful, but might be fun. Especially if you can see a cluster of -something- nearby, but not sure how many is in it, and don't want to find out the hard way.

OOOH. That is an amazing idea.

Also, make Pathfinding Boots a dingbat item please, pretty please dazed.gif
Malarious2011-10-02 05:21:25
I will kill anyone who says no to the scythe, I will additionally kill anyone who tries to make theirs special!

Also, give me scythe... and manna... and you know what lets just go head with all of it.

Dingbat specific wishlist:

Scythe (gnafia shop works)
Transplant pot
Watering Can
Planar Rune
Glasswork rune
Binoculars
Drums of Kiakoda
Focus rune (I dont care bout it but I see no reason why not)

Credits:
Divine Manna (sadly it makes more sense credits I think)

No Idea:
Mass rune
Dragon Gauntlets?
Turnus2011-10-02 06:46:21
No to the dragon gauntlets, it was bad enough having one person randomly setting rooms in the Serenwilde on fire. Don't need as many people as can afford it doing that.

Just for amusement's sake (I still really like the changeself one and would totally get that) - a chick magnet. For chickens of course, they won't jump out of your hands when you pick them up if you have this. Could have a variant with the male chicken naming too for those more inclined that way.

Edit: Some people would likely get one of those two just for the name, heh.
