17.12 AUCTIONS
In order to participate in a Lusternian auction, go to one of the lottery and auction offices in your local city or commune. Once there, you may BID <amount> ON <auction>. When an auction is over, the prize will be awarded, and any unused bids in escrow will be returned. Important: When bidding, either increasing or outbidding people, use your bid before confirming to double-check that what you are bidding on, and the amount you are bidding are correct. We will not lower or remove bids placed by accident. Gold Auctions: o You can only bid on 5 auctions at a time. o You cannot bid on an artifact you already own. o You cannot trade in your artifact in order to bid on an artifact in the auction instead. o Gold auction artifacts will have no trade-in value. Commands: AUCTIONS [CREDITS|GOLD] o List all auctions you can participate in, filtered by type if selected. Also lists your maximum bid if you are the current highest bidder. Bids CANNOT be retracted. AUCTIONS OPEN o Will list all Auctions that are currently open. BID <amount> ON <auction> [CONFIRM] o Bids the specified amount on an auction. It will notify you if you out bid any proxy bids for that auction. ONLY BOUND CREDITS AND ESCROW CREDITS CAN BE USED TO BID IN AUCTIONS. o Before using CONFIRM, ensure that the auction # and the amount you are bidding are accurate! - Bids will not be removed if you confirm them. BID INCREASE <auction> by <amount> [CONFIRM] o Increases your maximum bid on an auction you are currently winning. For example, if your maximum bid is 100 and you increase it by 50, your new maximum bid will be 150. o Before using CONFIRM, ensure that the auction # and amount you are increasing are accurate! - Bids will not be removed if you confirm them. BID INCREASE <auction> to <amount> [CONFIRM] o Increases your maximum bid on an auction you are currently winning. For example, if your maximum bid is 100 and you increase it to 250, your new maximum bid will be 250. o Before using CONFIRM, ensure that the auction # and amount you are increasing are accurate! - Bids will not be removed if you confirm them. AUCTION INFO <auction #> o Get information on an auction. AUCTION CREDITS o Shows how many credits are available for bidding. AUCTION ESCROW BUILD o This will build-up your escrow account, based on how many artifacts you currently possess. You can use your escrow in any auctions as credits taken against the value of your current artifacts. If you win an auction using escrow credits, and cannot pay for the bid fully with bound or unbound credits to your person, your artifacts will be used to meet the value of the auction. o ESCROW CREDITS ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO YOUR ARTIFACTS. USING ESCROW CREDITS MAY RESULT IN YOUR EXISTING ARTIFACTS BEING TRADED IN SO THAT YOUR BID CAN BE COMPLETED. AUCTION <auction #> RESOLVE o This will resolve an auction if you have won it through an escrow. In other words, after you have traded-in artifacts to cover the escrow or purchased credits normally, you can resolve the auction. NOTE: You must have the gold or credits on hand to bid. Your bid will be held in escrow until you are outbid or win the auction. If the winning bid is less than your maximum bid, then the remainder will be returned to you. The auction houses are located at: Glomdoring: the Cave of Chance Magnagora: Magnagora lotteries and auction house New Celest: the Celestian Lotto booth and auction house Serenwilde: Goldie's Lucky Lottery of Providence and Fortune Hallifax: Halls of Chance and Exchange Gaudiguch: the Gaudiguch Lottery NOTE: It is in extremely poor taste to prevent others from bidding in their own auction houses, and the administration reserves the right to exact excruciatingly painful punishments for those who engage in such dishonourable activity.
