18.2.1 GMT - AND OTHER REAL WORLD TIMES
(See CONFIG TIMEZONE at the end of this scroll) Nearly all times quoted by Lusternia's administration will be quoted in GMT, which stands for Greenwich Mean Time. This is the standard upon which the world's clocks are based. So, because Lusternia is an international game this is the easiest way of quoting real time. Unfortunately, because of daylight savings time, GMT can get confusing, as it does not 'turn its clock ahead' (or back). All times here are quoted outside of Daylight Savings Time. If you are in Daylight Savings Time, you are an hour further ahead relative to GMT. If you are in: England GMT Europe GMT, GMT+1 South America GMT -5 to GMT -3 USA/EAST GMT -5 USA/WEST GMT -8 South Pacific GMT +12 to GMT +10 Korea GMT +9 Japan GMT +9 Australia GMT +8 to GMT +10 China GMT +8 India GMT +5.5 Iraq GMT +3 (or GMT +4 in summer) Israel GMT +2 (or GMT +3 in summer) Africa GMT to GMT +3 CONFIG TIMEZONE --------------- By default the time shown by the time command is GMT. By using the CONFIG TIMEZONE command, it will also show you the time in your own timezone. When using this command, your timezone should be specified as relative to GMT: CONFIG TIMEZONE -0400 to set it four hours behind GMT. CONFIG TIMEZONE +0500 to set it five hours ahead of GMT. CONFIG TIMEZONE to clear it entirely.
