One afternoon in mid-Urlachmar, Sondayga Zayah's clangoru voice rang out, magnanimously offering 200 credits to whomever would emerge the winner of a battlerun competition, open to all at the Klangratch Tournies.

Huskii Myeras and Sondayga of Serenwilde, Khnemu Dahyu and Eiselle Mes'ard of Gaudiguch, Ayisdra of Hallifax, Exeryte Stormcrow of the Glomdoring, and Azula Vivalde of New Celest descended upon the Avenger's Battleground. Pyres rose and storms thundered. Blades flashed in the dark of the tunnels, and Exeryte claimed first blood. He steadily continued his murderous advance, knocking back Azula and other challenges to his position. Azula's meteors rained down on the battlefield, reclaiming second place as others in the arena warped dream and flame to their bidding. Nunchaku and deerblades spun in a deadly dance. Again and again, the Pinnacle of War whisked breathless contestants back in.

As the fighting continued, Ayisdra seemed to float above the fray for third place. Exeryte and Azula whirled upon each other once more, their violence broken by the conclusion of the battlerun, leaving Exeryte with the most points.
