You're Both Pretty

Freedom.

Many do not appreciate it, never knowing the value of something so simple. It has been a long time since we were free from the shackles of diplomacy. Be it Sultan, Arch Preceptor, or even a mere minister, for decades, even centuries, we were chained down and gagged by the need to keep the peace. Eiselle has released us from all such bonds, and we are eternally grateful. In a way, this news post is a tribute to her.

That said, what we say, we speak for nobody but ourself. We rule no city, lead no guild, advise no councils. These are the words of Ixchilgal alone, and thusly any consequences should fall only upon ourself.

In ages past, Ketheru took a big steaming dump all over Magnagora. Those who survived revel in this eternal turd. A swarm of flies buzzing around the cow patty of "civilization." They bask in this filth, and delude themselves into thinking that this makes them something more than a mere annoyance to the cow, who is simply trying to find a fresh patch of grass to eat, and looking for a new place to defecate.

Yet somehow, Celest has managed to be even more pathetic than that.

It is not enough that Celest makes grand claims, warning Magnagora to cower in fear from a beating that Celest hasn't been able to give in centuries. Fear the light of the dawn? Why would Magnagora do that? Because a few shrines got dusted? To wage war on sleeping gods, we thought surely, this is the height of cowardice. But we were proven wrong.

No, when faced with a real fight, if that is what you can call the petulant screaming match that everyone was forced to endure, Celest chose to hide behind the skirts of the Dawn. Faced with the cutting wit of an idiot that stylizes themself as some kind of mad prophet, but comes off more as a spoiled child screaming about wanting a lollipop, Celest managed to degrade themselves beyond even our lowest expectations. It was not enough to engage with such a creature, no. They must then fail to make any kind of compelling argument, though we suppose that it's hard to do that when your entire 'conversation' consists of "You suck," and "No, you suck!"

Even this was not enough. Taking the rage bait of a child, then defeated by the ensuing tantrum, did Celest make good on any of their grand, and very public threats? No, they waited for their Majesty to solve the problem for them.

Invoking gods to bully a child is the new, lowest standard we have seen. One death, a lesson is being taught. But to invoke your highest powers to stomp all over, what is objectively, the lowest of the low in Magnagora? This is not a projection of strength. This is the biggest demonstration of weakness you could have ever made.

Now we wait to see, will this be a wake up to cause self-reflection from our friends and allies? To learn how to make good on grand threats, and fight their own fights? Or will we simply become part of the problem, and join Tzshalgoth in being over-cooked by the Dawn because you're incapable of solving a problem without Him?
