Return of Isune

Storms of a most certainly magical nature appeared over the Basin of
Life within an instant, converging in a swirling torrent over Avechna's
Peak. Lightning of many hues connected the ground to the sky for a swift
moment, then the clouds disperse to leave only the thunder of their
meeting to peal across the basin. Soon after, a rumble emanated from the
Path of Dreams, drawing everyone's attention to the Cave of Beauty,
where a floating quartz disk bearing Lacostian's mark was discovered
interacting with the Seal of Beauty.
Over the course of a year, this disk continued to drain something from
the Seal, and each month another enormous storm momentarily flared over
the peak. As that year drew on, it became obvious that there was a link
between a voice calling itself Whisp and this process at the Seal. The
voice had been bothering the novices of various guilds for at least two
years prior, and recollected a handful of notable young ones who it
considered to have been a great help in discovering what it was. Paelni,
Iassan, Traesri, Aerdiu, and Vilocar were among the few names it could
remember. People guessed, correctly, that this Whisp was somehow related
to Isune, and the voice confirmed this as it spoke sporatically with
those at the Cave of Beauty.
At the end of the year, Lacostian's quartz disk shattered from the
stress of trying to filter and contain the soul of an Elder. The broken
shards flew through the aether and ended up scattered across the planes,
but Icarus, Zenji, Ceren, Niyu, and Kaervas sought them out and returned
them. Unfortunately, lesser shards scattered far and wide across the
Basin of Life, containing the essence of Isune's soul within them and
manifesting as glowing, empyreal feathers. Lacostian created a statue
and repaired his disk from the five greater shards, melding them and
instructing those who found the lesser pieces to place them within the
statue.
Many people held vigil at the statue and went out of their way to
collect feathers, and who all deserve some measure of respect for sheer
tenacity when it seemed their efforts would never bring about results.
Ialie, Nucoras, Kiarlea, Shorlen, Silvanoshi, Athalas, Vix, and
Diamondais are but a few among the many who collected and urged others
to collect feathers. A few months and some four hundred feathers later,
the form of the statue changed to one truly angelic, and Lacostian
finished the process to return Isune to the world once again.
Unfortunately, the reborn goddess was afflicted in that She could only
perceive Taint around Her, whether or not it was present in actuality.
She saw it upon Herself, Her fellow Elders, and even every person and
every thing within Her sight, and Her actions became erratic and
unpredictable as She seemed unable to cope with this. Estarra briefly
mentioned later that it seemed Isune and Viravain, then, had something
in common, and would need to work together to cure themselves.
