It began as an unnatural drowsiness that drove Celestines and Nihilists
to sleep, where they experienced several disturbing dreams regarding
their respective cosmic planes. When the Celestines sought counsel with
the Holy Supernals and the Nihilists with the Demon Lords, they found
these great entities were unable to concentrate, forgetful and behaving
oddly. However troubling this was, it was nothing compared to what
happened next. Both Holy Supernal Elohora and Demon Lord Luciphage fell
into a deep sleep, dissolving the bonds they had with those who followed
them.

Though difficult to communicate with, it was eventually discovered
through Holy Supernal Japhiel and Demon Lord Baalphegar that they were
experiencing a sleeping cycle where they would fall into a deep slumber
for 100 years after 1000 years of wakefulness. This was part of their
growing process; however, since they were fully grown, this vestigial
facet of their existence was no longer needed. Eventually, an
unprecedented ritual took place, something not done since before the
Taint. Japhiel and Baalphegar would combine their intellects to solve
this puzzle.

Two brave souls accepted to be bridges between these two cosmic powers.
Sheia Silverwing of the Celestines was chosen to carry a rod crafted by
Japhiel to Nil in order to stand before the Demon Lord Baalphegar.
Meanwhile, Torak, the Fist of Luciphage, was chosen by the Nihilists to
carry a rod crafted by Baalphegar to stand before the Holy Supernal
Japhiel. It was thus discovered that there was a way to anchor the
cosmic lords to the prime material plane, so that they would not need
the sleep.

Of the Nihilists, Nigredo, the Mystagogue of the Dark Fates, performed
the tasks that enabled him to awaken the Demon Lord Luciphage, by
creating a deep bond between the two of them. Of the Celestines,
Ecclesiarch Yurika with the help of Tekora Freewind performed the tasks
that enabled him to awaken the Holy Supernal Elohora, by creating a deep
bond between the two of them. Eventually, understanding dawned amongst
all cosmic guardians, that these deep bonds would be necessary to be
formed with each of the great cosmic entities to prevent them from
falling into 100 years of stasis.
