I have to point out, that just because Rika was the first to open the safe and got a useful plasmid out of it, that in itself by no means disqualifies her as scum. It makes her useful. And scum like being useful- it means we keep them around and protect them and don't bother looking too closely. Celina's got a point.

I realise scum like to be useful and it's an opportunity, but all that means is that she's not definitely NOT scum, it doesn't mean she is or is likely to be.

Oh, and you'll notice that I said I didn't find Rika's actions to be particularly scummy. It's just that 1) we have nothing to go on because it's day one 2) No vote days are generally a bad idea and 3) It's my personal belief that, if we have no idea who is scum or not, taking out people with possibly dangerous powers is a reasonable way to go. Since we don't know who has what, or who has nothing...Rika is the logical choice for me.

Not an abysmal plan, I suppose, but I still prefer one of the random voters on the principle that they're probably trying to hide.

I don't see how the power could be dangerous either, unless she was lying and it's proper TK (which is possible.)

I actually random'd and typed my vote first before the question about Rika's powers occurred to me, and on hindsight it does seem a little strange. I didn't think Rika was being overly scummy though, just opportunistic (a trait that benefits both town and scum), so the random vote was more a placeholder vote until there's more concrete evidence otherwise.

As for voting Rika off, I think it goes both ways in that it's difficult to say whether she's town or scum, and either useful or needing to be killed off quick. One point in her favour - she didn't interact with the safe towards anyone, even though she could have gone 'oops didn't know it would do that' if it does kill or cripple.

I'll go ahead with a Unvote, Vote: Serella for now, because her two posts involve a random vote and were rather lacking in substance.

I'm gonna go with Furien on this one. Even if Rika is scum, she's useful scum/notscum, and having her around could be helpful in the twisted games that Casilu will no-doubt throw at us.

I'm going to Unvote and Vote: Celina, because she seems to be quite reactionary about something we don't really understand and may be more likely to be an asset than a threat. Even if you're not scum, Celina, you said yourself we don't have much to go on, so I'm going with what I perceive that we do have.

I'm not going to vote yet, because I'm not convinced that Rika did anything unusual (if I had been the first person to be able to post after realizing objects can be manipulated, I prolly would have tried that too! ) and I can see where Celina's coming from. I almost want to vote for Shiri for trying to take over the game on the first day - maybe folks aren't convinced on who to vote for and want to get their semi-clever Random.org reference in for the day is all?

Yes, I think I require more information before I decide who to vote for. Celina has a point but so does Rika - could her skills be indication of some role? Ie. Mason, cop? I really need to reread the mafia help...

Do we know anything about Rika except that she got Telekinesis from being the quickest? Celina has a point that it is something to go after but... no. I'm not convinced about anything right now, so I won't vote for the time being either.

Also, I think everyone has posted at least once in the game so far. (Except Renthur, the traitor who didn't join. )

If they're hiding and making random votes instead of commenting on events/discussion it's scummy activity. If pointing that out is "taking over the game", take over away!

Yeah, everyone has posted. Personally I think Rika's plasmid/power says nothing about her role really. And if it did, being able to open safe's faster would probably be a robber ability.

But they did comment on events/disucssion. You even quoted it. They just chose to randomvote cause maybe they weren't convinced enough to vote on a particular person, and decided to go ahead and randomvote instead of not voting.

It is the first day after all, and to be honest, yes, we have things to discuss, but they're not exactly very concrete things. Rika opened the safe cause she was the first one to try. She got a plasmid ( ) and power which was completely random and up to the Mod to give her. Nothing about that screams, "Hey, I'm a scum!" Celina says she's voting for Rika cause she doesn't like that there's someone whose affiliation she doesn't know out there with a potentially deadly power. I get that, so that doesn't necessarily scream "Hey, I'm a scum!" either.

I'm not saying that everyone should just randomvote, but honestly if you don't feel like the choices are strong enough to be vote worthy, you can hold off on voting, or get your silly randomvote in. It's pretty much the same either way, IMO.
