23.2 CUSTOM BEASTS
Custom beasts, also sometimes referred to as pets, are considered advanced beasts which can be used just like any beast used in the Beastmastery skillset. They can be customized in a variety of ways, are loyal to a particular player, and can be trained by those skilled in the Dracnari art of Beastmastery (see HELP BEASTMASTERY). Custom beasts can be trained with various artifacts much like regular beasts, see ASHOP LIST CATEGORY BEASTMASTERY for the list. As with all customisations, you should contact support@lusternia.com with your request. See HELP CUSTOMISATIONS for more information on the general rules and the process itself and HELP CUSTOMISATION EXAMPLES for examples of what your submission should contain. CUSTOM BEAST ------------ COST: 750 credits FEATURES: - A fully custom description and name. - The ability to learn an additional 200 trains above an average beast. - Permanent level 13. - Does not pay stable fees. - Cannot permanently die. - Can be retrained once per game month (with Beastmastery)*. - Built-in reactions for ordering it around (HELP OWNERS MANUAL). - Any add-ons that you request (see below). BEAST RETRAIN [ALL] - This will clear all the non-inherent skills of the beast and allow you to retrain new skills. - The ALL option will also clear all trains from the beast. You WILL have to use reagents to regain the trains. - You may only retrain your beast once per game month. GENERAL RULES ------------- - Custom beasts must make sense as beasts (i.e., not be humanoid beings or other creatures that would be inappropriate as beasts). - Dragons cannot be requested as beasts. - Custom beasts must be creatures already existing in the world of Lusternia*. - Loyal entities (such as summons) cannot be turned into custom beasts. - You must be able to ride your beast. - The beast should possess limbs and a mouth (as necessitated by action lines of Beastmastery skills). - The beast should make sense for your character to possess. - Beasts should be no taller than 10 feet. - Beasts can possess unique names as part of their description (rather than "a black warhorse" you could request "Philo, the black warhorse"). - You can request up to three aliases for the beast (for example: philo, horse, warhorse). - Beasts can have gender or be marked genderless animals if appropriate. - You may purchase add-ons, either at the time of buying the beast or any time afterwards. - Divine Order beasts can be turned into custom beasts but with no or only very minimal changes to their appearance. * This means that your beast should be a type of being that already lives somewhere in Lusternia - either as a natural part of some area or has been previously accepted as a beast (we may reject the request if the old beast no longer matches today's standards). If you're not sure the type exists, feel free to ask (support@lusternia.com). If the type of beast you would like to purchase does not meet this criteria, there is still a path for you to pursue - see Add-Ons. ADD-ONS: -------- 1) Phoenix - 300 bound credits - If your pet dies, you can resummon it in 10 minutes (rather than 60 minutes) at full health, mana and ego. This is an investible power only available to custom beasts. 2) Sentience - 250 bound credits - For beasts that make sense to be sentient. - Order your pet to speak and emote, pre-defined and custom emotes. 3) Inherent Beastmastery Abilities - *special* - See information below. 4) Reactions - 100 bound credits each - See HELP REACTIONS for more information. 5) Mailing - 100 bound credits - Your dweller will deliver mail to others for you. 6) Delivery - 200 bound credits - This is a flavor skill that allows your pet to deliver an item to a person who is online. - See HELP REACTIONS for more information. 7) Retriever - 200 bound credits - This is a flavor skill that allows you to send your pet to retrieve items from a person who is online. - See HELP REACTIONS for more information. 8) Lore Review - 250 bound credits - If you would like to request a type of beast that does not exist in Lusternia yet but you feel would make sense to exist, you can request it through the use of this add-on. You will only be charged on positive review of your request. The request will be rejected if we do not feel the beast makes sense for the world of Lusternia. INHERENTS --------- You can purchase inherents for your custom beast, removing the need to train it yourself. Inherent skills are always trained and active, provided you have the required skills or artifacts to make use of those abilities. Most Beastmastery abilities have prerequisites so even if you request flying as an inherent, you cannot fly until your beast has the mount skill as well. To calculate the cost of inherents you can use an inherent calculator: Syntax: BEAST INHERENTCOST <ability> Examples: BEAST INHERENTCOST BODYGUARD BEAST INHERENTCOST BREATHE FIRE You can also now purchase inherent abilities on your custom beast directly using the following syntax: Syntax: BEAST INHERENT <ability> [CONFIRM] Examples: BEAST INHERENT BODYGUARD BEAST INHERENT BREATHE FIRE CONFIRM This will require confirmation and will take bound credits to pay for the inherent ability. *Note: As has been mentioned many times, you can purchase the inherent skill but should you not possess alternative requirements to use the skill, you will still be unable to use it. Special Inherents: - Guild-specific inherents can be purchased but require the appropriate guild skill in order to work. - Use the guild name when checking the cost (IE, use HARTSTONE instead of TREETOSS) - Minorbreath excorable and divinus trains can be made inherent but require the right whip to work. - Majorbreath peppermint and soot can be made inherent but require the right Solstice artifact to work. COLLARED BEASTS --------------- Regular beasts made permanent with a Collar of the Dracnari Beastmaster artifact can be turned into custom beasts. In those situations the following has to be kept in mind: - The cost of the package will be lowered by 250 credits (the full cost of the collar). - Turning a collared beast into a custom one will remove its inherent abilities as it is effectively an entirely new beast (even if you were to retain its description). - The new beast has to remain the same type of beast (i.e., you cannot turn a horse into an eagle). If you wish to turn your collared beast into a custom beast but also change its type, you can trade-in the collar instead to recoup some of the cost (see ASHOP 1). You can do that as part of requesting a custom beast. The discount is then 125 credits.
