3.14 SNUBBING

There are times when some people are just too much. For those times, we have the SNUB command. Once you have begun snubbing someone, neither of you will be able to use targetted emotes on the other, send tells to the other, send messages to each other, send mail to each other, or hear what each other is saying. In short, snub blocks all communication with that person.

If someone has snubbed you, we request that you respect their wish not to communicate with you. Similarly, if you have snubbed someone, it is your responsibility to not attempt to communicate with the person you have snubbed. If somebody is willingly trying to evade snub, we will ask you ISSUE the individual detailing how they did this. See HELP ISSUES for more.

Syntax:

SNUB <person>
  - Starts ignoring someone. 

SNUB LIST
  - See a list of who you are snubbing. 
  - Your snub list is limited to 30 people.

UNSNUB <person> 
  - Stops ignoring someone if you're already ignoring that person.

UNSNUB ALL
  - Removes everyone from your snub list.

You may not change your snub/unsnub setting with any particular person too often. If you try, you'll be told you can't yet, since you changed too recently. Try again a bit later!



SNUB AND CONSEQUENCES
---------------------

Snubbing is meant to prevent communication between two individuals, but often the actions of a player or character will require a response to said actions. The purpose of snub is not to make one immune to consequences. As such, we have gathered a non-exhaustive list of situations which might mistakenly be considered snub evasion, and the limitations of when they are and are not.

* Johnny has snubbed Sandra, the power minister of the mystical city of Iorieno. Johnny violated the city's power laws by drawing over his allotted limit. Sandra, due to being snubbed, cannot speak to Johnny about this, but instead blocks his power access. This is not snub evasion. Johnny can seek out a member of the Council or a power aide to find out why he was blocked and resolve it.
* The above situation occurs, but instead Sandra decides to have a power aide handle the situation, telling them to do what they think is the best course but not giving them a message to pass on. This is not snub evasion.
* The above situation occurs, but instead Sandra tells a power aide to talk to Johnny and tell him why he was blocked and how to fix it. While Sandra obviously has Johnny's and Ioreino's best interest at heart in this case, this is snub evasion.

* It's a beautiful day in the city of Iorieno, and councillor Billy-Bob is sitting at the nexus reading the latest news. Suddenly, he hears a call out from one of the denizens of the city's cosmic plane. He runs up to defend, and sees James, who snubbed him the previous day, from an enemy city trying to kill the denizens of the plane. Billy-Bob rushes in to defend, and then enemies James to Iorieno citing "Raided the plane of Kumquaty" as the reason, which the game then relays to James. This is not snub evasion.
* The above occurs, but Billy-Bob decides to, as he cannot speak James due to the snub, add a message to James in the enemy message, saying "Cowardly tried to raid the mighty plane of Kumquaty and has a stupid face." This would be considered snub evasion.

* Johnny has decided that today is the day to murder a fellow citizen of his city who implied that his mother was a less than savory character. But uh oh! Murder is against the city laws. The murder is reported to the council, but the four of them have Johnny snubbed or Johnny has snubbed them. After deliberation, the council decides to remove Johnny from the city because this is the third murder he has committed this week. In the reason for kicking, they cite "mass-murder of citizenry". This is not snub evasion.
* The above happens, but the council decides to say "mass-murdered citizenry. Please seek help." This is snub evasion.

* Johnny joins the new city of Snron. He has already snubbed the city leader. The city leader does not like that Johnny has snubbed him, and kicks him from the city because of it. This is snub evasion and retaliation.

* Globglob Mesherbrub has recently joined a friend's clan. The two friends had a falling out over the last cupcake available in the entire city, and Globglob snubbed his friend in response. The friend responded by kicking Globglob from the clan, citing no reason whatsoever. This is not snub evasion. Clans are player-owned, and as no communication is happening between the two, the owner of the clan is free to decide who may be in their clan.
* The above happens, but the clan owner says in the kick reasoning for Globglob, which is relayed to Globglob by the system, "Go sit on a slimy cactus." This is snub evasion, as despite it being a clan, this is an attempt at communication.

* Jenny has recently joined a cartel, but Stacy's Mom is also in the cartel. Jenny asks a third party in the cartel to relay anything Stacy's Mom says, or relay a message. This is snub evasion.
